(or gsoc 2009) wich is according to the official faq :&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style=" line-height: 22px; font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Google Summer of Code&lt;/em&gt; is a program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source projects.  Historically, the program has brought together over 2,400 students with over 230 open source projects, to create millions of lines of code. podcast &lt;a href="http://www.javaposse.com/index.php?post_id=375174"&gt;episode 204&lt;/a&gt; and they presented two Java apps this week the first one is called JavE or Java ASCII versatile Editor, and it allows to draw in ASCII characters even in free hand mode it's a really cool app since you can create &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII_art"&gt;ASCII arts&lt;/a&gt;
